Proline ProVI - Ducted Island Range Hood, Variable CFM | Stainless Steel, Outdoor Rated Finish Option

Ordered the 54" island good.
Poor documentation and installation instructions.
Shotty craftsmanship with these four aluminum rivets holding the main band on that we drilled and put hardened bolts though for safety; gaps in the housing that needed to be sealed.
The wrong Chimney Extension was sent.

After meticulously researching island hoods for over two years while planning our home build, we finally discovered the perfect centerpiece for our kitchen. Our vision was clear: a high-grade 304 stainless steel hood with an inline blower that would complement our island featuring a built-in gas cooktop—the focal point of our open-concept floor plan.

Despite our appliance supplier not carrying Proline products (they suggested an alternative that paled in comparison to the ProVI's sleek, minimalist design), we were determined to acquire the ProVI hood with an inline blower that hardly anyone else carries. The customer service team at Proline was extraordinary throughout our purchasing journey. Every team member demonstrated remarkable product knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for helping us realize our kitchen vision.

A couple of packaging notes. When our hood arrived, it was in three separate boxes (hood, blower, and chimney) secured on a pallet. We noticed a couple of issues with the packaging from delivery—1. the hood container had sustained minor damage at two of the cardboard corners but Proline's inner packaging design ensured the contents remained protected. 2. The blower box was pushed into the chimney box due to tight wrapping when palletized. This caused the chimney box to bend in slightly and created a small crease at the top of the chimney. Fortunately, this should be hidden by the ceiling trim, and the chimney remained straight and flat. This is something Proline might want to address in their packaging process but all is well in the end.

We fully unboxed the hood and blower system, connected a male plug to the blower, and plugged it into the hood. The performance exceeded our expectations: the powerful 1300 CFM blower, even at half speed, operated with remarkable quietness while maintaining impressive extraction power. Once properly installed, we're confident it will allow for comfortable conversation while cooking (though at higher speeds it might just be powerful enough to whisk a few shrimp right out of the wok!).

We now eagerly await our kitchen installation to see this stunning hood in its proper place, completing the heart of our home with both beauty and functionality.

We had our 36" ProVI island hood shipped to our summer cabin in California. The installation was straightforward, and the hood looks stunning. It arrived just when we needed it, and the performance is exceptional. The variable CFM is a great feature, making it easy to keep our kitchen air clean.

Four years on, it's been a joy to use - and I mean it when I say it really sucks (in a good way)! It handles our heavy cooking gases like a champ and runs much quieter than our friends' less powerful hoods. The grills are a breeze to clean too. I'm writing this review because one of the halogen bulbs burned out, and Proline's customer service was incredibly helpful in showing me how to change it. It's rare to find such good service these days. My only tiny regret is that my model can't be retrofitted with LED lights. Still, both the product and company get my highest recommendation!

The 36" ProVI island vent looks fantastic and feels very sturdy. We had an issue with the control panel, but the customer service was excellent. They arranged for a replacement, and we’re confident it will fix the problem. Overall, very happy with the purchase.
